My Pakistan (poem)

Burning fires
like a carnival fare
Slow paced development,
success so rare.
Suicide bombs
every now and then
Kidnapping children,
murdering men.
Misusing firearms
disobeying the government
Brothers fighting,
Killing the innocent.
All at war
against kith and kin
Families distraught,
weeping on ruins.
People illiterate
taking it with ease
Maltreatment at high,
discipline ceased.
Crazy politicians
with never ending feuds
Bringing us to shame
for their attitudes so crude.
Corrupted cities
pollution at peak
Drug addicts
disgrace they seek.
My fellow people
Lets stop our Motherland from its murder
From those enemies
who want us to surrender.
Save Pakistan
because she’s our jeweled crown
For it would be a shame
if we bring her down.
